A typing test that tells you why

The clock starts on your first keystroke, so there is nothing to set up. When it stops you get your speed in words per minute, your accuracy, a keyboard map of the keys that cost you most and a one-tap drill built from them. Nothing is saved anywhere but this browser.

Under 40 wpm, the result points you to a short touch typing lesson. At 40 or above it builds a drill from your weakest keys. Either way, finishing a test counts as a streak day, and the Daily Challenge gives everyone the same text to come back to.

Your result also shows a tier, from Bronze to Diamond. Typing tiers explained lists what each one needs, and how WPM is calculated covers the scoring.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Your results, streak and personal bests stay in this browser. Export a backup from Settings any time to keep them safe.

Can I take the test on my phone?

Yes. Tap the text to open your keyboard. Autocorrect and predictive text are off for the test, and the text stays above the keyboard.

What do the tiers mean?

Each tier needs a minimum speed and a minimum accuracy in the same test. There are five, from Bronze to Diamond, and they are personal milestones, not rankings.
